Dr Fabian Huss with Accompanist Paul Beechey, Elaine Smith and Members of the Choir
Founded in January 1995, the choir has some 32 members under the Musical Directorship of Dr Fabian Huss. Performances have been given in the Royal Albert Hall, Wells and Bristol Cathedrals, the Colston Hall, Assembly Rooms Bath and the Cardiff Millennium Centre. In a typical year the choir gives a dozen or so concerts, which along with weddings and Christmas performances fill the choir year.
The Choir has toured Jamaica, Norway and Tuscany, whilst choristers have augmented other choirs touring Canada, Germany and Holland. Three appearances on TV and a live radio broadcast has been made.
The Choir’s repertoire is very varied, encompassing traditional and spiritual music and hymns, as well as pieces from theatre, shows and pop music. Although most of the choir’s pieces are sung in English, they also sing in a variety of other languages including Latin, Italian, Welsh and even Zulu.
“We Aim to Entertain” is their raison d’etre. The Choir has helped raise money for charities and good causes, the amount is now over £135,000.
